Description:

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented A/R and A/P Accountant with a sense of urgency to focus on helping with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and assist with G/L and Aki’s daily financial operations.

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, this person will work in close partnership with multiple leaders and teams within Aki. This role requires having a “yes” mentality, a sense of humor, and an accounting background ideally in tech/startups.

What you will be doing:
  • Full cycle AR & AP.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Assist with mid-month, month-end, and yearly closing (bank, credit card and balance sheet recons).
  • Act as first point of contact with general finance queries.
  • Help with preparation of monthly financials.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Organize and maintain records of all investor and advisory documents.
  • Manage expense reports platform (Zoho), including new user set up, approval workflow, policy, enforcement, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Audit billing reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with Account Managers & Sales team to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain and file all vendor contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience including some AR/billing experience.
  • Detail-oriented!
  • Proficient user of finance and accounting software (Excel, Quickbooks).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience in a startup.
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks, Zoho, Bill.com.
  • GL reconciliation.
