Defining the Mobile Moment
One person’s moment of over-indulgence sets the stage for a much-needed engagement opportunity—if the right brand message is there when they need it.
Target the morning after someone over-indulged at a BBQ restaurant, steakhouse, all-you-can-eat buffet, etc.
The Mobile Moment in Action
We’ve all been there—just one more plate, one more bite… “Okay, I guess I’ll have a small piece of cheesecake.” No matter how much we know we’ll regret it, we love to overindulge. And it was exactly those moments of regret that a leading antacid wanted to find.
The company turned to Aki Technologies—and its mobile moments ad platform—for help. Working closely with the client to understand the campaign goals, Aki created the “I Shouldn’t Have Eaten That Moment”.
How did Aki identify the moment? Well, we can’t say for sure if Joe went back for a second plate of spare ribs at his local hometown buffet, but two hours of ad calls at the restaurant suggests more than a side salad. By using point of interest locations including Buffets, Steakhouses, Korean BBQ’s, as well as late night visits to QSR’s, Aki was able to connect the antacid with consumers who were likely in search of relief.
The company saw a 4x increase in ad engagement compared to non-moment targeted mobile media using the same creative. The proof is in the pudding. Or the tacos. Or the cheesesteaks. Whichever way, moment targeting prevails again!
