Defining the Mobile Moment
Sitting at the service center, waiting for your car… Do you chose to pass time with that old magazine or your phone? Smart advertisers know you’ll pick the phone, and they’ll be there waiting for you with their brand message.
Target auto owners at auto repair shops, mechanics, tire centers, maintenance and oil change specialists, and dealerships with parts/service centers.
The Mobile Moment in Action
Check engine light, screeching breaks, oil change, and so on… If you own a car, you’ve inevitably spent some time in an auto service waiting room. Luckily now that we’re armed with mobile devices, we no longer have to read last year’s Road and Track. Instead, we’ve got devices in hand and can explore all the internet as to offer.

The result is a prime targeting opportunity for a captive (and probably a little bored) audience.

According to AAA’s 2015 “Your Driving Costs Study,” Americans spend on average $767 per year on factory-recommended maintenance including oil changes, tire maintenance, battery inspection/testing, and routine maintenance. On a typical 15K miles annually that comes out to over 5 cents a mile and almost 9% of the annual overall cost of owning a vehicle!
